Impact Assessment on Salmonella Regulation 2160/2003/EC

The provisions in section E of Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003 require that before the end of 2009, detailed rules for the criterion "Salmonella: absence in 25 grams" in fresh poultry meat from fowl (Gallus gallus) and turkeys should be laid down by the Commission, (and that such poultry meat may not be placed on the market for human consumption unless it meets the criterion).

Former Foodstuffs in the review of Animal By-products Regulation 1774/2002

The European Commission has indicated its intention to present a proposal by the end of this year to the European Parliament and the Council on the revision of the animal by-products regulation (EC) N° 1774/2002. The Commission is also seeking the advice of the European Food Safety Authority regarding the transitional measures concerning former foodstuffs under regulation (EC) N° 197/2006 applying until August 2009.
