EuroCommerce issued some initial comments on the draft report and has followed in detail the discussions taking place on the subject. The report voted on 19.12.2006, in our opinion, is rather deceiving. EuroCommerce feels this document is lacking convincing arguments and contradicting.

Communication from the Commission concerning CSR: A contribution of business to sustainable development

As far as companies are concerned, CSR could contribute to the Lisbon objectives to make Europe a dynamic and knowledge-based society. To efficiently deliver on these objectives, the contribution of business should be reasonably thought out and steadily implemented. It should remain managed as an economical asset for enterprises regardless of their size.
